Jaime Sommers is a bartender who is involved in a near fatal car accident and becomes the Bionic woman. She is leading a life full of struggles and difficulties and is also a surrogate mother to her teenage sister. Her life become more complicated and difficult after a serious car accident. Her only hope of survival is to undergo a high-tech exclusive and secret surgery. It is very expensive. After the surgery, she finds that she has acquired extraordinary abilities. At the same time, she finds herself heavily indebted to repay the debts incurred for the surgery, and is in a sort of dilemma. Ultimately she decided to use her power for good and sets herself of a path of self-discovery that shall stand her in good stead to lead her new life as Bionic Woman.

NBC reported that the first episode of Bionic Woman reached 13.6 million viewers, earning a 5.5 rating and a 14 share, and building on its lead-in from the previous hour by 112 percent. It won its time slot overall, and was the #1 show of its broadcast night in adults 18-49. ^[1] However, when measured against all shows on broadcast television for the week, its 15th place showing amongst all viewers was bettered by the 7th place finish of its nearest genre competitor, Heroes. Amongst adults 18-49, however, the episode was in 8th place. Heroes finished 5th in the key demographic. ^[2]
